The Broadcast Media courses provides students the opportunity to learn about the Broadcast Media Production Industry, the history of the industry, and to explore careers in the field. Students are exposed to and perform elements of the job market including: script writing, anchoring, EFP newsgathering, digital video editing, voice-over recording, live control room production using video switcher, live audio mixing, graphic design, video playback, and live-streaming. The course is similar to an advanced video production course where students learn to work in a professional studio environment. Students will get a combination of classroom instruction as well as hands-on training using the digital production tools. They will design and produce school-wide video programs, which promote the positive events taking place at Katella HS. The programs are broadcast throughout the school via our YouTube Channel KTV - Knightly News. The course uses the 5Cs as a framework to support instruction.
